Kushikatsu Daruma at Shinsekai
Kushikatsu Daruma at Shinsekai

One of the famous food in Osaka, kushikatsu (串カツ)! Kushikatsu is a Japanese dish of seasoned, skewered and grilled meat. In Japanese, kushi () refers to the skewers used while katsu means a deep-fried cutlet of meat. They may be served straight or with tonkatsu sauce. The Shinsekai neighbourhood of Osaka is famous for its kushikatsu.

Kushikatsu Daruma is the famous kushikatsu in Osaka. I have tried the one located at Shinsekai, and I found another one at Dotonbori too. They have several outlets in Osaka.

Look for that angry chef mascot and you will never go wrong! 🙂

P/s: I have tried their tomato kushikatsu and it was amazing! Fried at the outside but it’s still a fresh tomato! Caution of hot by the way! 😉
