The thing to do in Bangkok during the weekend is shopping at Chatuchak (if shopping is on your vacation to-do list). It is a huge place, many options, good price, you will be lost of direction, and the weather is hot. Very hot. So it is advisable to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Stay hydrated and take good care of your belongings. There were 4 of us, it’s too hard to go in 4 together all the way, it will be too mainstream. So shopping in the group of 2 is perfect. And because of this, it will be better to get the local number at the airport or 7-11 before you head to Chatuchak. Heard that now Chatuchak is open on Friday night too!
How to get to Chatuchak?
Take BTS to Mo Chit station, take exit no. 1 and follow the crowd until you see rows of canvas stalls selling clothes. Then probably you started to get stuck in shopping. lol
**Following the crowds will definitely bring you there, but remember to spot some landmarks just to get back where you came from. ಠ_ಠ
Besides Chatuchak, there are Pratunam wholesale market, Platinum mall where are good to shop too. For groceries/ snacks shopping to bring back home, Big C is a good choice. I actually wonder do the locals feel annoyed that the stocks are being sold out crazily for the tourists? Because they might want to buy too.
P/s: Photo was taken at Mo Chit Station.
